Hello everyone.
A relatively new guy to the Forums and to the whole world of smoking. It started as fascination of re-creating a smoked brisket I'd had in Dallas.
Searching my home state of Florida in vain, I turned to DIY. My first purchase, probably as a lot of first timers do, was a Brinkmann Electric. Pretty much failure on all brisket attempts. I suspect it was due to the uncontrollable electric heating element and - no doubt - inexperience. Ribs were OK, but varied widely.
I was just about to mod the Brinkmann with a PID controller when my wife offered up that we should by a Masterbilt 30" Electric. Its the analog control type. I've only just seasoned it, so the MES is still unused.
I'm looking forward to many tasty meals with help from the forum.
Thanks...
