Well hello fellow smokers! i finally found a pc that allows me to post pics and normally again for that matter, so i felt i have all these projects ive snapped on my phone saved up for just the occasion...anyways we'll save that story for another day..i was walking around the store one day wondering what animal to eat and i stumbled across the butcher walking out with a pack of turkey wings and drums. now i didnt want the drums, but i havent had wings in a loooooooooooonnnnnnnnngggggggg time...so why not a turkey wing, right?...lol. heres the little view i do have. enjoy.

All rinsed off, this was just a test run, so i only smoked 2 at the time, plus 2 wings still sat at right around 4.5lbs.

Rubbing them down with a Jerk Rub...what the hay,why not?

Into the smoker at 255* for a while soaking up sugar maple hickory smoke , be back soon daddys got a date with a tecate!

Wings are done...wings are done..i cranked the heat the last 10 minutes or so to 300* for a crisped up skin, still some rubber left to it, but not enough to make me NOT want to eat them. lol.

Separated the flapper and drumettes, that arent soo "drumette"..lol. i took this monster down and was pretty full, or maybe it was the beer....nahh it was the wing.. lol. well thanks for looking yall. hope yall enjoyed. glad to be back(i never left) and posting like a normal person with pictures again! yippeeee!!! til' next time.

Holey Moley....might just be the angle but that's a huge looking flapper there. Kinda funny, I don't ever buy turkey wings alone but on Thanksgiving or any time a roasted turkey is around I always go for the wings. Nobody ever seems to want them so works out for me. Love the skin and tug of meat off the bone. But, I digress. They look real nice...good color, nice shine etc. Just watched an old episode of Pitmasters last night and turkey legs and points were the chosen meats. I guess in judging turkey legs the color is very important as is being able to bite through the skin......Willie

Those look great! Happy to hear you can post pics again! I'm still fighting with Chrome and Win 8.
Thanks they were very delicious, i maybe went a bit heavvy with the jerk rub, cuz i was sweatin there for a minute..lol. and also im on chrome right now cuz my IE9 wont work at home or update itself. endless battle with these things.

LOL. oh no willie, i took a few from different angles and they all looked huge! this was as dead on picture. thats why i put it on a plate for comparison..lol. i just found out also my local grocery store has fresh wings daily and theyre all the same price no matter the weight, $3 for 2 wings. so can we guess whats in my freezer now...? hahaha! and as for the skin, turkeys sure do have one heck of a skin on em,especially the dang wing. but i made it work.

Aw right....a deal in the making. Don't forget making some turkey stock with them wings which could easily turn into turkey/sausage gumbo for a crowd. One of my favs to make and slurp up with some of that Tecate and a good crispy loaf.

Looks Great!

We have a little market here that does Smoked turkey wings and drummies all the time and they sure smell good. They set the smoker right by the front door, they don't last long at all!

Those are some Great looking wings!!!
I can just imagine them injected with some hot sauce!!!

that sounds pretty darn good, but ill tell ya that jerk rub sure did the trick..ive been on a jerk kick lately...darn good but can be a little trying at sometimes...lol.

Those look great, I'm like you, not much on Turkey Legs or Thighs , however I injected some with Frank's and they turned out nice and spicey. The darkmeat flavor didn't matter as much...

Yes you need to try it! I love buffalo wings but hate when they are so drenched in sauce it gets all over you, so by injecting you get all the flavor without the mess!

ill say i was very pleased with the outcome. not that i doubt my smokin skills, but when you try something new its always a little iffy...lol. lucky for me i always have extras layin around somewhere..

yeh i dont do the whole sauce slathered wings either...you ever notice wherever they serve wings or ribs that are overly sauced they always tend to have those cheapo craptastic thinner than air excuse for napkins? just my observation..

Don't know how I missed this one, T&B...those turkey arms looked delicious!  Nicely done, my friend!
