I'm totally new to smoking and have been pouring over this great forum for more than a month now.

So much to learn but want to someday impress my Wife that can cook anything great.

Looking to buy MES 30 in the next week, trying to decide which model, wanting remote with glass door

We have 2 grown Son's we enjoy spending time with.

Most weekends in the summer we head for the boat and explore the Columbia River.

My hobbies are flying RC Helicopters, Aerial photgraphy and target shooting.

Thank you!

Well howdee Navman, pleasure to meet you.

I could tell you about the awesome search engine and how its loaded up with unbelievable amounts of info on all things. Maybe tell you about the Gurus around here who will help and guide you in your smoking endeavors, or possibly the great folks just to discuss insights with or who will keep you inspired. But I won't, guessing you already realized it all.

My only words of wisdom, take notes, I know it sounds silly, its not nuclear engineering but the notes allow you to remember what you did, how you did it, and what you need to research or what you want to tweak after hearing another solution to the same thing. If you don't now where you were you'll never get where you want to go. besides what if you got the perfect smoke the first time and couldn't duplicate it?

But this is the howdee section and I do get long winded don't I?

Enjoy the boards, enjoy the smoke and don't ever stress over it, its supposed to be relaxing and fun.

Enjoy the smoke and welcome to my addiction.

BTW I have a MES 30 and like it, you know its good when you wish you'd bought the 40 for more space!

I see many years of great smoke in your future. I would suggest a AMNPS to go with it.

Happy smoken.

to SMF!  We are so glad you joined us!

If you didn't read the Terms of Service notes.....please do.  There are a few things that everyone should know about those pesky little rules before plunging into the forums. Rule #11......"Off Site Links are not allowed here at SMF" is something new. There are other simple guidelines for all of us to remember as we interact here.

If you need any help roaming around here in SMF....just give me a shout.  Happy to help any time!

Kat

Thank you for the warm welcomes everyone!

I did get the eCourse from Jeff, a wealth of information that I'm taking to the boat to start my education this weekend

Great idea on keeping notes, wouldn't have thought of that Foamheart!

Thank you for the "heads up" on posting links KathrynN, missed that part.

Have a great weekend everyone!
