Heya all glad to be here,

My name is Josh, I currently live in Portland, OR but am from the great state of Texas. So when it comes to bbq I always have high expectations.

When I was in the military we built are own smokers out of 55 gal steel drums, and they worked perfectly. I grew up in the food industry and was a cook in the military as well. I always make things from scratch as well.

I recently was given a brand new smoker in the box from a friend who just wasn't going to use it. Well I just opened it up it's a

BRINKMAN Smoke'n Pit Smoke King Vertical Smoker.

This thing is a bit odd as it came with an electric base piece as well but as far as I can tell it doesn't go with this smoker. I'm wandering alot about the quality of this smoker as it is very odd. I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask questions and get some help on this darn thing and maybe some tips for future use but ya wanted to post here first.
