Upgrade to Chargriller Duo 5050

I have used the Duo 5050 with SFB for the past 4 years & love the overall functionality but want something higher quality. I know there are mods that can be done to improve performance, but I'm exactly good with my hands. I use the gas side a few times during the week for convenience & do a lot of smoking and grilling on weekends. I use the side burner to start coals so often that this week I burned through it. The brackets in the gas side that hold the heat shields have completely burned off as well.

All that being said, I am looking for something similar but made of high-quality materials that will last for much longer. I've contacted several custom pit makers, & several said they couldn't do it while others didn't respond or wanted a little more than I want to spend. Budget is around $2,000, & I am in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. Any help or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Lang sells a nice patio model for around $1500.

Just go to the Lang website, you'll like what you see.

Good luck,

Bill

Thanks...I'll check it out. Pits by JJ just quoted me $2,240 for a custom build. Does anyone have experience with their pits?

The problem with the Lang is that it doesn't have a gas section. For some reason, they seem to think that being able to cook over direct charcoal or wood heat and smoke using indirect heat is innovative. I can't imagine having separate charcoal grill plus a smoker plus a gas grill if I want to cook fast. Waste of space.
