Would like to modify to a propane smoker.  Any suggestions?

I've never seen a mod like this on a propane vertical smoker.  I've seen the mailbox mod for pellets but not an actual firebox mod.

Which smoker do you have?  I read this as you have a propane smoker and you wanted to add a side fire box to it.

Seems that I recall reading some threads in the distant past of members adding a propane burner in the bottom of their side fire box.  I only found one thread for you, but there must be others:

Good luck!  If you do this type of mod, please post pics of your process...sounds interesting!

Brinkmann Pro cylindrical smoker now has a wood or charcoal side fire box.  Want to add propane burners for convenience and consistent temp.

Here is what I did to a Brinkmann square a few years ago. Still unsure of what model you have.
