Hey guys! I'm Ryan and I am from South Dakota.  After talking with some friends about smoking I decided to jump into the game and try it out.  I am starting off with a Brinkman Gourmet electric smoker.  It is pretty upfront and simple, which is perfect for a beginner like me.

So far I've tried smoking a pork loin and some St. Louis style ribs.  Both turned out delicious.  But I'm sure with a little tweaking they can be even better.

When I told my wife I was going to start smoking she told me she hated smoked foods.  So far I am 2 for 2 with her liking what I have smoked.  Haha. I have changed her mind!

My next smoking adventure might be some smoked Northern Pike or maybe a pork shoulder.  We will see.  It is always fun playing around with the food and smoker.  I really hope to try and play with some rubs and make my own recipe.

Thanks in advance for all the help and advice!
