So yeah, this is my first Qview for your viewing pleasure. #5 Boston butt smoked at 230* roughly, using apple wood chunks.

Just out of the package

Rubbed and wrapped, time for a 12 hour nap

6am and smokin time

10.5 hours later with an IT of 185* just about to be foiled

Hour later and it's sliced for service

For my first butt smoking, it was excellent and there were no leftovers. Which is awesome because it means everyone liked it, but sucks because no midnight snacks.

Need to do 2 next time for snacks.

Looks like it was good

I always say, you know ya did good when you say, I should have cooked more!

I always suggest when ya do a good one especially ya sit down and write down what you did to get it that way so you don't forget. Take some notes so next time you can adjust that one little thing to get better. If you need some ideas check out the link, or you can just copy one if ya like and use theirs. Ether way anything that good should be put down for posterity!

Congrats on a great smoke.

Looks great...   5 lbs is never enough Ha Ha

I'll usually try to find some 7 - 8.5 pounders if I can.   That way everyone can eat and I have leftovers.
