M wife approached me and informed me of her intentions of getting a gas grill (which I was TOTALLY AGAINST). Her reasoning was that she could easily go out and start it on short notice/quick change of mind for dinner plans without me and not have to heat up the oven/stove, which in turn heats up our small townhouse.
I have been looking at the Char-Griller 3001 as an option. I like the heavy duty metal barrel. I noticed that there were screws and a plate on the lower right side where it looked like a charcoal box could be added. Hmmmm, could this be the best of both worlds? A convenient gas grill for the wife and a charcoal/wood smoker attachment for me??????? Has anyone done this? does it work that way? Sorry, I wasn't sure exactly where to post this. I know it's a propane grill, but with a charcoal/wood box attachment, that would be the source of the smoking. I suppose the gas would be good as a backup of something went wrong--to keep temps up to par.
