I am Cathy, live in MN and new to smoking.  I have always wanted to order the MES from QVC, but never did until my husband said he wanted to give it a try.

Our Maiden smoking Voyage was a pork butt from Dadgum II... the one with the rub and mustard.  It was very tasty!  The 2nd attempt was the sweet and spicy chicken wings that were a HUGE hit at a party.

I live in MN, but I am Canadian.  Canada Day is on Monday, so I am having some friends over on Sunday for a BBQ to celebrate.  Was thinking of doing Dadgum II Pulled Pork Sandwiches with his BBQ sauce.

So far, learning the ropes has been fun, it certainly is a learning curve.  Can't wait to try more recipes!

Welcome, Cathy. We are pleased you chose the SMF , and hope you decide to call it home for all your BBQ needs.

Let us know how you are enjoying your new MB Smoker , and be sure to send Q-view of it and all your Smokes.  We don't want to see a

If you didn't read the Terms of Service notes.....please do.  There are a few things that everyone should know about those pesky little rules before plunging into the forums. Rule #11......"Off Site Links are not allowed here at SMF" is something new. There are other simple guidelines for all of us to remember as we interact here.

If you need any help roaming around the forums....just holler!  Happy to help out!

Welcome aboard Cathy. I'm just a short jaunt from you over in Hastings... Pulled pork Sammiches are the bestest! say if you fancy a journey; Duff Meats (im not affiliated with) here in town offer decent pricing on their Boston Butts. I smoked 2 at 1 time couple months ago; yummy! Troy

Hey Troy, thanks for the welcome! I had no idea about Duff's. I have won meat from the meatshop on the way to Rochester from the AV Legion. Glad something is closer. Hard to find specialty cuts of meat. Does Diff's take preorders, for instance, if I need a leg of lamb? Those are impossible to find.

I just got back from buying the Butts at Sam's. Hate having to buy 2 biggies at once.

They should be able the get you speciality cuts like that. I bought a w pack of those Boston butts just cause they were crio-vacced. they will sell just 1 too.

Good to know. Hastings is just up the road from me in Rosemount. You're so close you may
be able smell my butt tomorrow!
