Hey y'all,

So I've lurked around here for a while, then joined back in April, and now, finally, posting... No surprise, have 2 kids, and a 12 unit summer college schedule (posting this between classes to be exact.) I'm just north of Austin in Texas, and have 3 smokers, 2 grills, a wife who fully supports this "twisted hobby of mine" and a 2 year old who would rather eat treats from the smoker than the cookie jar (yes, I said 2 kids, but the other one is just 4 mos. old, we'll get him corrupted soon enough...)

The names of my equipment escape me at the moment as it's midterm week and that info has squeezed everything out of my head... What was I saying? Anywho... I spend more time cooking pork, but enjoy beef, bird and fish when I can. I also make my own pig rub and BBQ sauce that the friends and family keep telling me to sell.

I love all the info and helpful people around here, and look forward to augmenting my arsenal of smoke skills.

to SMF!  We are so glad you joined us!

If you didn't read the "Terms of Service" notes.....please do. There are a few things that everyone should know about those pesky little rules before plunging into the forums. Just a teeny bit of information for some of the rules here at SMF before you get started, off site links are not allowed.

If you need any help roaming around the forums....give me a shout. I will be happy to help out!

Just kicked back on Lake Travis taking it easy are ya? Welcome to the boards, there are some really great Guru's here, and they don't bite. But the search engine is just bustin at the seams with info. I mean its got it all, you ever consider smoked eggs? What about nuts? It can be as generic or as specific as you like. Something there ya don't quite understand ask a Guru and they are all over it. Course you may stir up a discussion and never have a single answer.

With all that equip I know you realize smoking is a journey and there is not a perfect way, only the way you like it now.

People here are normally quick to respond to a question, beware you may get more answers than you need.

Make sure and get in that profile and list the good stuff because these folks are so good that where you live can and does influence their answers.

Nice meeting ya, and welcome to my addiction.

Q-View per request - Up front is my $20 Weber garage sale score, with the UFO and Brinkmann behind. To the right you will find my wife's S'more oven

. The Turbo is disassembled pending restoration and the Masterbuilt is as you would imagine it would look (no pic currently)

Foam - until we get some more rain (El Nino grade), Travis on my side is pretty dry, so no lake fun for now...

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!
