Here is my first DIY Boston Butt Rub.

I looked at several BBQ forums and looked at the ingredients and amounts of at least 20 different Boston Butt rubs that I liked and compared the ingredients to my tastes.
 
Greg's UGR Rub (Uncle Greg's Rub) #1   (renamed on 08/18/2013)

 

Spicy, saltier less sweet, and savory
 
4 tablespoons Seasoned salt (I used Norton's Nature's Seasons)
3 tablespoons Sugar
4 tablespoons Garlic powder
4 tablespoons Onion powder
4 tablespoons Paprika
2 tablespoons Chili powder
1 tablespoon Cumin
3 tablespoons Black pepper
1 tablespoon Cayenne pepper  
2 tablespoons Lemon pepper seasoning
1 tablespoon Ground ginger
1 tablespoon Dried thyme
1 tablespoon Ancho chili powder
1 teaspoon of Celery seeds
1 tablespoon Dry mustard
1 teaspoon Allspice

1 tablespoons Ground Coriander

1 teaspoon Ground Celery seeds

1/4 cup dried Minced Onion (I will run the dried minced onion through the Coffee grinder to make granulated next time)
1/2 cup Paprika

2 tablespoons Lemon pepper seasoning

1 tablespoon Dry mustard

1 tablespoon Dried thyme

1 tablespoon Italian Seasoning

1 tablespoons Ground Coriander

1 tablespoon Cumin
2 tablespoons ground Melange pepper
1-1/2  teaspoon Cayenne pepper

1 tablespoon Ground ginger

1 tablespoon Ancho Chili powder

#5 still wasn't quite right. I liked some of the end results of #4 and #5 so I mixed equal portions of each and it came out very good so this is the current working version.

2 Tablespoons Chili powder

1 Tablespoon Cumin

We had some friends over for dinner and per them #6 is the winner. They said it was nice that this rub adds flavor without covering up the pork chops flavor that I grilled. I may increase the Bay Leaf to 1/2 Teaspoon to see if it will be more noticable.
