Hello!

My name is Aaron and I am new to SMF! I thought I would do my Roll call hello and tell everyone about myself. My handle on here is phatbac and that is an old nickname from when i was in highschool it has a somewhat funny story about it which I will not tell now (PM maybe i will share) and is now tattooed on my arm. You can call me Aaron or phatbac either way is fine.

I have been smoking meat for about 1 1/2 years with an actual smoker before that i started smoking with a propane grill with wet wood chips (nothing low and slow about that) but it still made good burgers. At first i was smoking with what i think is referred to as an ECB. it is a $40 R2D2 looking thing.

A month and half ago my wife bought me a char broil deluxe off-set smoker for our anniversary which i have been using ever since. Since i got that smoker i have been doing more research on how to use it when i discovered these forums. i have been reading them for about a month and learning all kinds of things i have been doing wrong with my smoking. As a result my food has gotten immediately better!  i thought i would join these forums to learn more and become better at the hobby i so enjoy.

As for me, I live in Pulaski Virginia and work a small nearby college. i develop web based software for the college and really enjoy what i do. I live with my wife and our two cats. I enjoy smoking (and eating of course) i also enjoy cooking in general and playing all kinds of board, card and role playing games.

I look forward to talking and learning from all you guys and gals out there in the SMF. I will share what i know and my experiences and soon hope to get a decent camera so i can some Qview! Until then i will be mostly reading all of your input and looking at your delicious QView.
