Crosley Shelvador handle

I'm new to the forum, and do not have an extensive amount of time at the computer. I was hoping that someone would be able to explain how to disassemble the door handle on my 1950's Crosley Shelvador. I looks like I need to remove a pin, but the darn thing will not budge. Is there a trick?

A picture would help.....  Usually they have a groove that fits into a spring clip...  Push on the handle and push the pin or pull on the handle and push the pin... Then you are in trouble trying to reassemble it...   maybe...... and sometimes they will only move one direction....

Mine had a pin that had to be punched out.
