Hello all! I'm a brand new member and the owner of a pre loved Brinkmann Sportsman Charcoal Smoker. The weather here in Buffalo is finally cooperating and I can't wait to get my smoker fired up. I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions as I get my plan together for my first attempt. Any recommendations for an easy first meat? I was thinking a pork shoulder. Anyway, I'm looking forward to talking with everyone.

Welcome to the group. when you get a chance. will you drop by roll call and update your info. that way we can all give you a SMF welcome. now what to smoke. i would a test burn to see how it holds heat and what you have to do to make it hold heat and produce smoke.

then maybe a short smoke of what ever you like. then jump into the middle of the pool with a pork butt. if you like it after that. go to the deep end of the pool with a brisket.

remember the search bar at the top of any page is your friend.

Happy smoken.
