Hi there, Bob from Newark, Ca here. Great site! Been lurking for awhile & enjoying it. Have a couple of Weber kettles w/smokinator & amnps. Recently retired my 50 year old Mirro electric (got my moneys worth) & replaced it w/a Smokin-it #2. Lovin all the tips & tricks here.
So, last year I cut up a bunch of Sungold cherry tomatoes, & put them on the weber (hovergrill), they were amazing. They didn't get dry, however. This year, I'm going to try to do them in the Smokin-it. I bought some of Todd's Q-mats for the racks, & I bought a 4" duct fan, which I plan to stand over the smoke outlet. I'm thinkin I'll smoke the tomatoes about 3 hours, then just let the fan run until they seem dry enough. (seems like the smokin-it might also make a dandy dehydrator). Anyone have any thoughts or hints on this? Thanks so much, Bob
