i am smoking 4 butts all around the 8/9lb range for a friend of ours to celebrate her husband that lost his fight with cancer last year at 37years old he was one of the finest people i have ever known that knew his way around smoker so i was tapd to do the q work for the gathering i rubbed the butts last night and put them in the fridge till 3am well its storming like crazy and we tried to get her to move it to sunday but she wants it rain or shine so i mand up and im smoken rain or shine had to dig out my qn wool blanket i have until 530pm to get them done fingers crossed i also have about 9lbs of chicken to do
 
thanks i think the meat is in better shape than i am didnt get much sleep with all the lightning going on i did dig out my monster tarp to take with its 60x80ft and lots of para chord its still rainning like crazy pool would over flow if it could
 
ya we bought 80 colored chines laterns to write something we remember about or with Steve shouldnt have to worry about any fires im sure people will wonder about all the flying glowing lanterns and guess i wont have to worry about the brush pile bonfire getting out of hand with 5inches in the gauge and climbing
 
Lost my best friend five years ago on April 4th. He was 51 and just died in his sleep. We fished and bbq'd together alot. He brewed the beer and i cooked. Every time i smell smoke, or grill, i think of him. This tribute of yours is awesome to me. God bless, and keep the memory alive.
 
i just put the butts to bed now off to help set up for the party and to fire up Steves smoker to cook everything else will post pics of finished pork when i start to pull it

it was a great turn out a lot of fun food and memories best of all the rain cleard out around 4 and was beautiful the whole time
