Here's some pics of my first smoker build. It was kinda a spur of the moment kind of thing.Never owned a smoker but always wanted one so i decided to go for it. I only had a couple days of research before i started this build one week before memorial day.Working on it at work on my breaks and after hours I knew i was gonna have to hurry to get it done in time to season it and cook on it on Memorial Day. I decided to go with a 24" diamater by 48" long chamber with a 20"x20" firebox.
Got the plate sheared, rolled and tacked up.
Got the end plates burnt out and tacked on.
Firebox fit up.
Firebox and chamber welded and tacked together.
Door cut hinges on and seal plates tacked.
Firebox to chamber opening cut.
Firebox door on.
Having one of these and someone to run it to cut out parts made things alot easier.
Legs on
Drip pan/baffle plate in and welded solid
Finishing up welding legs.
Cutting legs to length
Put casters and bottom rack on.
Tig welding the chimney/exhaust
Firebox finished with damper and destaco clamp to hold it shut
Finally brought it home saturday before Memorial holiday
Still needs Thermomters
Drip pan drain with valve
Firing it up!!!
Seasoned
Got temp gauges on and cooking!!!
