Picked up a 5.5 lb flat the other day cause it was only 2.49 per pound! Rubbed it with Jeff's rub last night and put in the fridge.

Lit a basket full of coals about 11:40 this morning. I put a layer of Kingsford brickets on the bottom so the lump would not fell through the grate so easily.

Then onto the smoker at 12:35. TBS at 220 degrees!

Will keep you posted as the day goes on.

Thanks everyone!  I put two marinated chicken breasts on about 45 mins ago. Will have pics of them to add soon.

After last post I went to check on the chicken. Not sure you can see the temp but they were at 170! Snapped a pic and took them off. Resting for now.

 This was first put on..

 And this is finished!

More to come on the brisket

Finally off the smoker! And did NOT make the ten o'clock  news. (Mostly due to adult beverages) But a couple finished pics.

But it was damn good! Even without sauce.

Don't be afraid of brisket. It is not that hard. But it does require patience.

  Happy smoking!
