Carne asada with homemade pico and tortillas, and a side of ABT's

Today, it was time for the grill to take a turn

Two flank steaks with pickled jalapenos pressed into them, a little of the pickling juice added as a vinegar marinade, and vac sealed.  Set it aside for a couple of hours

Pickled sliced jalapenos pressed into two flank steaks, a little pickling juice from the jar, and then vacuum sealed and set aside to marinate for a couple of hours

Fresh jalapenos from the local farm market.  These suckers were hot

Fresh jalapenos...found these at the farm market, and man are they hot

On the grill.  You can still see the imprints from the jalapeno slices that I pressed into the meat.

Flank steak and ABTs in my Weber Gold with lump charcoal and a couple of handfuls of cherry wood chips

Good sear, good flavor

Sliced for carne asada

My wife made homemade pico and tortillas, and we added a little cilantro lime rice.  Good stuff.

Married it with my wife's homemade pico and tortillias

Well, that's it.  Tomorrow's menu features a breakfast fattie, buffalo burger lunch, and pulled pork for dinner.
