wild turkey

had a good day turkey hunting

also found a few morels

then fired up the old smoker

rubbed with Jeff's rub and wrap breast with bacon as this was skin less and  smoked for about 4 hr

I`ve killed alot of wild turkey but never have cooked one whole..How was it ?

the breast meat turned out real good but the dark meat was tough as leather. next time i will cut him up and run the drum sticks up to 200 degrees to see if that would help.

Morels are mushrooms that come up in the spring.

Much easier to remove the Breast, and chuck the rest. IMHO

Very nice!!!  Today is our last day so looks like no bird for meth_crybaby2.gif Had one small meal of morels so far, maybe this afternoon I can get out and find a few!

Been a long time here, and am envious of ya. cool.gif

 

Drank a lot of Turkey too ,banana_smiley.gif. it's good I can't enjoy that elixer anymore; it made me Crazy when I did and I would wake up in the strangest places rolleyes.gif .
