Just wanted to say how great a resource this place is and I am about to find out how well my first smoke went.

16lbs of meat from Costco

13.5 hrs

Sitting at 191 and getting excited!

YAY!

Welcome to the forums!  Good luck with that first smoke!  Don't forget to show and tell us how it went!

Looks like this if your first post.  When you get a chance, stop in over at the Roll Call Forum and tell us a little about yourself.  It'll give the members a chance to get to know you a little and give you a proper SMF welcome!

WOW!  I cannot believe it and must credit this site for an amazing first smoke!!

Our local smoked BBQ joint is my 12 year old son's favorite.  He told me that my meat was so much better than that place and now he can never go back there again!

It was a long process, but so worth it!  17.5 hrs to completion - pulled the meat at 1:00 AM

My wife got breakfast in bed with a smoked meat and cheese omelette for Mother's Day!

Here are some pictures.

Costco - 16.49 lbs of meat!

Mustard/molasses base and a bourbon rib rub that I bought at Cabelas.

My smoker - where the magic happened!

Heated up and meat in!

Progress - curiosity made me look.  :)

About 6.5 hrs in and opened for a spritzing.

14 hours in......

Final product:

Now....what to do next?!?!?!?
