I am using the Camp Chef Premium pellets and they burn very completely and give good flavor. The run 20 buck for a 20# bag and free shipping. Order direct from Camp Chef.

Kruizer, look them up on Sportmans Warehouse or Dicks Sporting goods, they are $12.99/bag and with Sportsmans if you spend $49 you get free shipping. That is what I am doing when them and I love these pellets, they burn with very little ash.

Post back when you run some, interested to see what others think. No too many on here run them.
I ordered lumber jack from Dicks as they were only 2$ more a bag (14.99 for 20lbs) I ordered 120 lbs all different species and it shipped for free....

Academy Sports and Outdoors has B and B Competition Blend pellets at $19.99 40lb. Bag. I’ve smoked on them twice now. A butt, ribs and chicken. I like the B and B. I’ve been a fan of their charcoal for a long time.
Id also like to add that while I am experienced in many different cooker types, I am new to a pellet machine. However the Cooks turned out well using B and B and had no issues. B

Hey Guys! Do you notice a significant difference in the quality and performance of different brands of cooking pellets? The premium brands can be pretty expensive, especially if you have to order and pay shipping costs. There apparently aren't a lot of retail dealers in my area who sell pellets of any kind. But I found some real affordable pellets at Academy (thanks, veryolddog). They're B&B Brand, and Academy carries 3 flavors - Hickory, Mesquite and Apple. 20 lb. bags for $9.99. Can anyone weigh in on the quality of these pellets compared to the more expensive brands? I haven't burned enough pellets through my new pellet pit yet to be a very good judge.

What do y'all think?

I've bought Traeger in the past because of the availability but I just bought a variety from Walmart of Oak/Hickory and the blend and so far so good AND 40lbs was same price as 20lb for the Traeger brand!

Did some research (have been using GMG pellets) and decided to try Lumberjacks. Found a dealer in Melbourne, FL (roughly 60 mi north of me) and drove up to get a bag for me, as well as one for my nephew. Trying the 100% Pecan (for me) and the 100% Hickory. Cost was over $60. Thought this a bit out of line. Further research (after the fact of course) showed that Dick's Sporting Goods carries them. Closest "Dick's" is 20 minutes from me. Cost is much more reasonable to boot!

$60 for 2 20# bags?

Midwest wise we got Earth Sense/PelletHead, their brand is called Uncle Jed's. Their self brand is 25 pounds bags for 17 USD a bag. They also market the Green Mountain Grill brand at 20 dollars for a 28 pound bag. Since we buy all our pellets for our pellet stove from them I intend to use them for my pellet needs. A bag from there would likely last me an entire year.

$8.99 a 20lbs bag at rural king here ,only bad thing is limited flavors

Just an FYI. Dick's will pricematch Rural King's price on lumberjack pellets and still ship free to home. I bought 9 20lb bags for around 84 dollars. If you want multiple flavors it's better to order them one at a time. The manager I dealt with needed approval from a higher up and a special code to price adjust the whole order but they can do one item in the store easily. He was very nice about it but it took forever.

B & B are rebranded BBQ'r Delight.

I'm telling you if you haven't tried the Cooking Pellets brand (Hickory & Perfect mix) you should give them a try. They are 100% of what they say on the package. I buy in bulk and 40# bag when buying 15 bags is only $26 per bag with free UPS delivery. That's about a years supply for me :)
