I had an old HS buddy over last night for dinner, traveled from Ohio to Virginia so I put a little effort in to it. First I picked a six pounder from the local store, and rubbed it down with salt, garlic powder, Slap Ya Mama and rosemary. Bagged it and placed it in the fridge for 24 hours...

After a day in the bag, I loaded her up on the "Oklahoma Joe" and used mostly oak wood, a little maple, kept the temp around 225 to 250 and took the bird up to 175* internal

After about four hours, the bird had reached 175, then I foiled it to rest.

Add a little bit of home made buttermilk biscuits, green been casserole and a blackberry cobbler....

Grilled corn on the cob

End results....

Your effort panned out!

Looks good from here. I saw corn on the cob at the market Tues......asked the guy 'where' it came from & he didn't know. Seems awful early  for corn in the States. Five for $2.00.....

Thanks everybody I enjoy the cooking

The corn has been in the "old folks grocery" for a couple weeks now, three ears for a buck and they grill up nice, didnt think to ask where they come from. Probably best I dont know?
