Hi all, I'm John.

I'm a real estate broker from Utah, and I'm just getting into smoking. I bought a  Brinkman's gourmet electric smoker a few years ago, and have smoked a bunch of turkeys and a few racks of ribs on it, but until last weekend, I hadn't tried anything else.  I'm looking to "upgrade" to charcoal as a heat source, and debating doing a UDS build, or buying and modifying a horizontal smoker with a side firebox.

I was referred to the forum by my friend Dallas (not sure of his username). He told me this is an awesome place, and to prove his point, he shared some of his recent batch of Jeff's rub with me for my first pulled pork trial. It was so awesome, I jumped right onto the site and bought the recipes immediately.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to picking people's minds about a wide variety of BBQ issues. In fact, I spent half my morning on the non-fish/seafood section, and might go a little nuts with some of those recipes this weekend.
