I have a smoke hollow 4-1 that is almost put together. The manual says to season with vegetable oil but I've also seen Pam and flaxseed oil suggested. Wondering which is best. Also wondering where to get flaxseed if it's best. Thanks.

Any of those will work great.  When I season a new rig I generally use cooking spray simply because its the easiest and most convenient.  Its important just to make sure you run the temp up nice and high and let it burn for an hour or two to burn in real good and eliminate any manufacturing residue.  Good luck, you'll be turning out some great food real soon!

Should have asked, do I need to let it cool before cooking on it or can I go ahead cook something after giving it a couple hours of good heat to season?

Depends how high your heat is and what your cooking as long as your temp isn't too high go for it good luck
