My name is Chip and I'm a BBQaholic...wait...wrong forum.  Seriously, long time lurker here from Dracut, MA (will update profile after I post) and love how friendly and helpful everyone is.  I've never owned a smoker, so I'm as noob as they come, but I've learned a ton from you folks just reading through the forums, researching and taking notes.

Even with all of the helpful tips I think I've stretched my slow-cooker faux-BBQ as far as I can, so an hour ago I dropped the hammer on a Smokin-It Model 2 and a Maverick ET-732.  :)  (plug for Smokin-It: ordered at 12:29pm, received tracking number at 12:52pm...wow)  With any luck I'll have her seasoned and ready to go by next weekend.

Not sure there is much more to say about me, though I'm sure as soon as I get some actual smoke under my belt I'll be back with questions as well as being able to weigh in on my own experiences and hopefully help some other new folks out along the way.
