Hey all, just picked up a shiny, brand new WSM 18.5 with a new Weber chimney and the highly acclaimed Maverick ET-732 thermo's. Firstly, the Weber products are amazing and I'm incredibly excited to finally have a smoker, let alone one that should hopefully last for years.

My thought on this thermo is different though, seems pretty cheaply made. Haven't tested accuracy or range yet, but for 1/5 the price of the smoker, I'm unimpressed. For this price, isn't there something else out there that works and is built well? I feel like I'm gonna break this thing.

Anywho, thanks for all the info so far, excited to join the ranks.

Dustin

Dustin,

I have had great luck with my 732. I haven't been easy on it either. I've dropped both the remote and the sensor countless times. So far no issues. Both probes on mine are within a few degrees of being accurate.

Welcome aboard, Dustin! Glad you joined us. You've found a great place to learn and share ideas. Lots of friendly and knowledgeable folks here who really enjoy helping one another.

I've been using the same Maverick dual probe therm (ET-73, older model of your 732) for 4 years, hundreds of smokes, and it has never failed.  So I highly recommend them.  Congrats on that new WSM, those are nice rigs, and just ask when you need help and you'll get plenty.

Thanks all for the warm, smokey welcome. Pics to come!
