Just wanted to say hey, looks like I'll be spending a lot of time here. I was just gifted my father's Big Green Egg a week ago since he has no more room for it. Just smoked my first whole chicken yesterday and it turned out great for my first attempt.

I'm impressed by how efficient the Egg is and how much in the way of lump charcoal I had leftover.

I'm also a beer geek, homebrewer and hop grower in case anyone ever needs some thoughts about any of that type of stuff. I definitely think these hobbies are going to go very well together.

Anyways, cheers and here's to a good summer!

Where do you get your hops to grow?

Well hops do pretty well in a lot of the northern half of the US. In Indiana you can grow just about any variety. Mine are grown in the backyard where they get plenty of southern sun. Last year, my largest plant grew to about 17 feet.
