Broken Arrow, OK
My names Scott, I'm from broken arrow, ok. Picked up an old smoker from my mom that she hasn't used in forever last night, and tryin to smoke some baby backs today. They'll be done in a couple hours! Hopefully they're good for my first time! Haha. I joined to learn some tips and tricks from you well versed people at smoking meat!

Thanks sir! So far so good with it, just been having a kind of hard time keeping the heat in it, it's a little chilly and a slight wind, but I think the coals aren't getting enough air. The rack they lay on is collapsed so the coals are basically laying on the bottom, even with the vent wide open it's been hard to keep it up to 225. But the ribs look and smell amazing!

And my meat smoking virginity is gone! Wife and mother in law say they were fantastic and I have to agree... Didn't quite follow through with the 3-2-1 cause we were starving and the girl took a lot longer to warm up than I expecting so they didn't go in for a while.

Success!  Congrats on a good first smoke!  All the better because the family loved it too.  You can search the smoker forums to learn some mods for that rig that can improve its performance.  Plus, the more you tinker with it, the more you'll get a feel for it and get it dialed in.  Smoke on, brother!
