I am smoking a corned beef in remembrance of my father who's birthday is on St. Patrick's Day. He passed away a little over a year ago. I got a 4.5 pound brisket soak it in water,changing out the water ever 30 minutes.

Next i made up a batch of Jeff's rub while my brinkmann tmle was heating up.I am smoking with cherry and hickory chunks.

Looks great. Sounds like you have an outstanding new tradition to honor your Dad. I hope you lift a glass (of whatever is appropriate), in his memory.
 
Eight hours into smoke and IT is up to 200 passed the toothpick test.I took it off the smoker and let it rest. Unwrapped 60 minutes later
