Now for the good news..sheesh...

Every time I turn on the news, I swear something is bad for me or going to taken away.

The tobacco companies taught us corporations don't mind killing there customers off as long as there's profit in it. Its all about money.

I'm sure the solution will be some kind of life-long treatment where you have to take a pill everyday (their pill...)

That is a bit Scary... I have had a nasty case of C diff (Clostridium difficile ). It is in your Bowel normally but is kept in check by the Good Bacteria in your Colon. Large and extended doses of Antibiotics wipe out the beneficial Bugs leaving the resistant C diff to multiply to large amounts. This results in a long bout of Explosive Diarrhea lasting several days. You may be hospitalized to maintain hydration and placed in isolation with anyone entering the room being gowned and gloved because the stuff is transmitted to others by contact with fecal matter. When I had it the only antibiotic that was effective was Oral Vancomycin....The Ironic part was it was IV Vancomycin and a few others that CAUSED the C diff!...JJ

I agree with a lot of what has been written in the article, but the author doesn't seem to know that it's the FDA that regulates livestock antibiotics.
The FDA issued voluntary guidelines last year, that wasn't mentioned in the article at all.
Hopefully some mandatory guidelines will soon follow.
