My girlfriend brought home two nice 2 lb sirloin tip roasts that there were on sale buy one get one free, ended up being $3/lb.   Smoked it with half hickory half mesquite in Smokin It smoker for roughly 2 hours.  It was cocktail night so that time is a rough estimate lol.  I just sprinkled it with some steak seasoning we got for free from Penzeys, I was feeling lazy and didn't know I was smoking this for dinner until she got from grocery shopping at 5pm.   I pulled it out at 133, let it rest for 10 minutes or so.  The bigger end was rare like she likes it, the skinnier end was med rare how I like it.  We sliced it thin and had it with some white bread, bbq sauce and horsey sauce.  It was good, but no where near as good as my brisket last week.  Nice beef alternative though, way less fat and and doesn't leave you with that greasy feeling you get after eating too much brisket!   Sorry for the mediocre pictures, did I mention it was cocktail night? lol

Looks great! At least you made something to eat on cocktail night. I had cocktails for dinner on cocktail night last night. Still don't feel so well lol. Guess I'll have to cook last nights strip steaks tonight.

Excellent, now when you go to make some sammies out of it later, run it thru a warm au jus, but don't over do it. It really tenderizes the meat and will make a great sammie. We do this with sirloin tip and Eye of Round.
