Good morning gang. Early morning here in NJ as I'm smokin an 8lb butt for the race today when my brothers family comes over. Started her yesterday by injecting with equal parts apple juice/water and 2 tbs of rub.

Got up at 4 and put the smoker on to warm up as its only 29*. Did a 70/30 mix of apple and hickory and when that was goin I got the butt on.

Now the best part of an all day smoke......the wait. Lol. I'll do my best to keep ya updated with the progress and some live q-view. Happy Sunday!!

Well this worked out to be my best pulled pork yet!! Everyone loved it and it went fast. 10 hours on the smoker and an hour nap in a cooler produced this.

The bone came out with just a gentle pull and no meat on it.

Just starting to pull.

We all made just simple sandwiches with some sauce on top.

Ended up being a great day with family and great food. Looking forward to many more weekends of this.
