I've been smoking with charcoal and different woods over the past few years on a modified Landmann Black Dog 42" with offset firebox and a Master Forge vertical charcoal jobbie from Lowes. I've gotten pretty damn good with chunks, chips, and logs but I wanted to get lazy so, I just recently purchased a MES 40 (2nd gen) and an A-MAZE-N 5x8 pellet/dust smoker with a variety of flavors of both. I made my decision based on what others have posted in this forum and I am seasoning the two products right now, as I type this. I can't wait to fill it with meat and see what gives. Thanks to all whose posts led me to this decision. I have read hundreds. I had some initial questions about how to setup this particular combination. So, I emailed Todd. Within minutes, I got a phone call from him and (true what others have said about his customer service) he was super helpful and courteous. I'll let you know what happens after my first smoke.
