Hello all! Had a nice beautiful sunny Southern California weekend so I decided to try and smoke my first pork butts ever on Saturday. Came out pretty decent but I made this spicy cole slaw that just complimented the pork perfectly. Totally unreal! I also did a St Louis ribs think on Monday which came out better than Lucille's BBQ....but that really doesnt say much haha
Prep work. Cherry Dr Pepper + Italian Dressing Oil strained of all the spices + a hearty tablespoon of rub. Mix the reserved strained spices from the Italian dressing with mustard, a little Cherry Dr Pepper and coateded the pork with that. Finished with some more rub.
After 5 hrs of Apple/Hickory smoke
My third Pulled Pork sandwich with spicy slaw.
Ribs
3 hours of Apple/Hickory smoke and ready to be slathered with the good stuff and foiled
Finished product (used a modified 3-2-1 method to compensate for the smaller smoker size)
