its not famous Dave's that's for shure,    been to 4 of there stores,  2 here in iowa and 2 in Mo.    i like a good brisket Sammie but what i got was a veggie Sammie,   but  i needed a micron telescope to spot the 2 fibers of meat on it,   4 times i sent it back for more meat on it and 4 times it came back with a super heated plate but nothen added to the sammie.

thats when i got fed up and flipped the plate over on the table and walked out,  all the staff there didnt know how to speak inglish..  wont go there again

If you had it taken back several times you may have gotten some extra special sauce added if you know what I mean....

I'm pretty sure the best is at my house...

...but if you are talking about commercial BBQ joints - one of the best I have been to (chain style)is Q is Midlothian, Virginia.  Q is owned by pitmaster Tuffy Stone, you may have seen him on Pitmasters as a judge sitting next to Myron Mixon.

I've been there a few times and highly recommend it...

Another place I would recommend is Buz & Neds in Richmond, VA.  It's a really small place but the ribs are fantastic - my son says almost as good as mine!!!  Buz & Neds is not a chain restaurant but has a huge following, especially after beating Bobby Flay in a rib throwdown!

So, if you are ever in Virginia and you can't get an invitation to my place...try one of the two listed above.

Good luck,

Bill

Ever watched that scene from Road Trip where he sends his French Toast back because it had powdered sugar on it?

Sending something back once is risky, 4 times and you have ba||$ of steel my friend. I would have given them an opportunity to fix it and then if it still wasn't fixed left. I agree with you that Dave's is not very good bbq though.

On the island of Kauai, Chicken in a Barrel is the only place for BBQ!!! The best on the big island used to be Huli Sues in Wiamea, but sadly they have closed
