Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. My name is Tommy and I live in Asheville NC. Just got a smoker for Christmas and am just starting to learn the ways. I have a master forge 2 door gas smoker. Anyways, just wanted to say hello and thanks to everyone for all there help so far!

Welcome!! Tommy. I have the same smoker and really enjoy using it. Here is a link to a couple modifications I did to it to make it run more efficiently.

Thanks for the suggestions as to how to modify my smoker. I have already swapped the water pans for sand. Also learned about the safety feature on the regulator. I'm gonna close off the bottom vents to help with heat loss like you did Next is a rope gasket kit for the doors and possibly a 3 sided wind shield.
 
Wind shield will help a lot I think. I keep putting that off. Every time I'm smoking and its windy I make a make-shift one out of things laying around. I want to make one that is hinged so I can fold it up to store it.
