So I know it was a balmy 16 degrees here in Michigan this morning, but I just finished seasoning my new TMLE last night and I have informed the wife we are having a Super Bowl Party in a couple weeks.  So my question to the peanut gallery is, "what are you smoking"

I plan on brining a couple birds and slapping some rub on a pork loin.  I figure I'll keep it simple since I imagine it'll be even colder by then....

For those of you in warmer climes what's your big game specialty? Anyone have any suggestions for sides - I will likely make up a big batch of slaw and let the rest be potluck.

I have a nice bone-in Boston Butt that I will smoke next weekend in preparation for Super Bowl Sunday.

I plan on serving pulled pork sliders, pulled pork pizza, maybe some ABTs, and I will be whipping up some of my home-made chili, and finally a honeybun cake for desert.

I'm sure my son and a friend of mine will supply plenty of their home-brewed craft beers!

Gonna be a good time.

Sort newbie question, only becuase I have always done bone in butts and never pork loin.  My wife wants something leaner, can you replace loin for the boston and get similar results or is the extra fat a necessity?

You won't cook a loin like you do a butt there just is not enough fat to get to the pulling consistency.

However, there is nothing wrong with a good smoked pork loin!  I have included a link that will take you to some amazing pork loin recipes.
