Hello all,

I'm from Ontario, Canada so right now it's cold and snowy! I just bought a Masterbuilt 30" electric smoker and so far have tried (unsuccessfully) smoking bacon. I currently have my smoker in an enclosed wooden shed (my hubby calls it the smoking shed for more reasons than one) with a vent fan in the wall (as my neighbours on one side are old, retired and very nosy). I'm so glad that I found this forum as there is lots of conflicting advice in books I've read so far. Thanks and Happy New Year to all!

Hi Kitteny -- sorry, I accidentally posted your quote before my reply was added! (I'm a newbie on this forum too.)

I'm in NB where we are also in deep snow -- I have been trying to smoke on the doorway of the garage. I envy you your shed!!

Kate

Thanks! The shed does help; I had read that because Masterbuilt smokers are made in China (what isn't these days), they're not made to deal with our Canadian winter temperatures so that it needs to be sheltered when smoking in the wintertime. I've already found some great advice on this site, so glad I came across it!
