I just wanted to stop in and thank Abel for inviting me to come assist in the Judges tent. It was an awesome and educational experience both both my wife and I. The KCBS reps and Judges were very informative and I got a feel for what Judges look for, what turn in boxes should look like, the process boxes go through after turn in, and best of all, sample some great Q'. It gave me an insight to what I may be doing wrong in my cooks, what I need to change and improve upon, a glimpse of the high ethics the Judges hold themselves to, and most of all the encouragement to get involved and get a team together. I will be taking a CBJ class as soon as I can, so be nice to me, I just may be your next critic LOL.

Glad you came out as we did need some help in the tent.  I believe a few teams cancelled at the last minute so the local boy scouts who normally help actually cooked the event!

As Henry mentioned he will be having a CBJ and maybe even a tables captain class for his next event in Wildomar.  I truly believe becoming a CBJ and judging a handful of events will be a huge advantage over other competitors who have never judged before.  This is why we end up seeing a few cooks from teams who have been competing for a while come back and judge a few contents to see who other cooks are turning in.  Looking forward to seeing you in the tent and sitting at the table the next time.
