Hi my name is Eric Haglund.

I live in the great state of Michigan (U of M Fan-- Go Wolverines!).  I just bought a Masterbuilt Smokehouse (Electric).

I am a deer hunter, so I used my smoker to make some venison jerky... didn't turn out so great.  Way salty and too dry-- definitely need some help.  I would like to also learn how to smoke a pork butt and some pork ribs. 

Looking forward to learning a lot from this site and from all of you.  Hope to develop some friendships along the way.

Please feel free to send any outstanding recipes or special techniques any of you have learned while using your smokers.

I would be glad to help out a fellow Michigander ! I am from the U.P. originally. have had my MES 40 for several years and have done alot of smoking. Lot's of jerky,smoked salmon,smoked turkey,etc.. Just getting into smoking cheese! Yum!
