After having some pork chops a friend of mine smoked, I convinced the missus to buy me a smoker just like his. It turned out to be the Smoke Hollow 30168e model electric smoker.

From the start I have had the following parts go bad, the first was one of the legs did not line up with the holes so we got the replacement and then the door knob bolt broke during the seasoning period (its okay I found a fix using a drywall wingnut thing).

It is okay I am a diehard so I have managed to smoke quite a few things now and almost all of them have turned out good. Trout not so good and neither were the boneless ribs.

About me I live in SE Arizona between Tucson and Tombstone and work on an Army base, married and have grandkids and great grandkids and soon will hit the ripe old age of 50. I served in the US Navy for 16 years and lived in Japan for three of them.

I will post some of my questions in a bit and in the right forum.

To the admin's thank you for supporting the message forums I know the work that is involved having ran several websites myself.

Done and thank you

Welcome gramps. I am in Colorado and a rockies fan and when they played at hy corbitt field we went down to Tucson several years and went to tombstone every year. Then the rockies moved and the gunfight show we liked in tombstone burned down so no more. Nice people in that area though. Everyone we met was very friendly to us, unlike the folks in phoenix who have more of that big city mentality it seems (nothing personal to anyone on the forum from phoenix, you're cool!) Welcome to the forum!

First of all, thank you for your service!

After that, hell no!  You can never be less than a newbie after all you have done for us!

Having said that, you still get to go through the trial and error that many of us have.

Finding this forum?  You will feel at home, as so many experts here will be happy to guide you as they have me!

Welcome!

Good luck and good smoking.
