Hello, I'm from Tarboro, nc in the eastern part of the state, so yes I do prefer my BBQ to be pulled then chopped with a vinegar (save the ketchup for your fries) based sauce. I have been smoking pork picnic shoulders for about 10 years. For the last couple of years I've started smoking other kinds of cuts. I use a classic weber kettle and a char griller. I am certainly not as experienced as many on this forum but I've made a few mistakes over the years that I've learned from so I hope I can contribute to some of the discussions.

Happy Grilling
