30" MES problem- power intermittent

The cord plug.... does it fit tight in the outlet ??? Is there resistance when inserting it into the wall outlet ??   If not, the spades on the end of the cord can be spread apart for a tight fit..... I have found a new box cutter blade, inserted into the "barely visible" split in the lugs, and with some pressure applied, the "folded over" piece of metal used for the lugs will separate providing a very good contact in the wall outlet.....  If they still slide in easily, change the wall outlet.... It is worn out....

Another thought on this is to take the two screws off on the electronic digital control box and check the connector where it plugs into the smoker box...they sure looked awful light weight when i plugged mine in when my 30 was new.  Maybe a bad connection there???
