I've been smoking only one thing for 7 some odd years: turkey. Every Thanksgiving when it's hosted in my house, I smoke the turkey. This past season is no different but my sweet sisters was watching me shovel charcoal, adding water, and really just making sure everything was going fine. But in their eyes, they felt it was time for me to try something that doesn't take me away from the family conversations. So for an early Christmas gift, they got me a Masterbuilt Electric Smoker (MES seems to be the term most people use in this forum.)

It's a bit different than my water smoker that's for sure. So I'm going to try it out on a slab of salmon. My sister pointed me to this site and this appears to be a nicely organized site so here I am. I have been wanting to smoke something else other than turkey just once a year so now, it's time for me to venture out and see what I'm missing.
