Hello Everyone.
Glad to be a part of a good bunch of cooks/chefs. I know we all have one thing in common. The love for Good tasting smoked meat.
As for myself, I'm 61 (the new 51, lol), live in Houston, Texas. I pretty much cooked on regular thick steel smoking type tube/pipe smokers. Did some catering years back, cook offs, fundraisers, etc and got sort of burned out on it. The wife saw this Smoke Hollow smoker at Sam's club so I went to see it for myself. It looked like a pretty good set up so I kicked it up a notch and purchased the 47180T as her Xmas present. For her of course.
I'm pretty much just getting back into smoking again,( still have 3 steel smokers) but have not done any gas grilling or ever used a searing unit to be honest, so it's like learning all over again in some ways. I do know it's fun so I'm looking forward to starting over again. Probably tomorrow as soon as I put the wife's new pit together.
You'll probably be seeing me on here quite a bit asking some annoying questions on the searing and gas grilling side of cooking but kind of noticed that there were some guys here that seem to know their stuff. Hope they don't mind shearing some of that knowledge, i know I will be needing quite a bit.
Thanks for taking time in reading this short novel and thanks in advance for anything you can throw my way and I'll do the same on the smoke side of the pit.No one knows it all but put everyone together and watch out hungry people, some lip smacking dish's coming your way.
Thanks again.
