I have subscribed to Jeff's newsletter for some time.  Finally took the plunge to go "all in", or as my wife says "whole hog".

I have a gas Great Outdoors Smoky Mountain smoker.  Got it for Father's Day a few years back.  Have tinkered with pork butts, ribs, beer in the butt chicken, chicken thighs, whole turkeys & turkey breast.  Smoking takes time, which work schedule does not allow too much of.

Plan on venturing into new woods and rub recipes.  As with most things, there is more to this than meets the eye.

Bear with my simple questions and inexperience.  I have kinda figured out what we like, or the family can tolerate.

Photo of the beagle on my posts is Tom admiring the aroma of a pork butt.  Tom & Huck (brothers) have gone to be with Elvis.  We miss them, but I do send smoke signals to doggie heaven for them.

I've been looking for the place to do just that.  Has not appeared to me yet, that I recognize anyway.
