I got a Master Forge vertical charcoal smoker last week as an early Christmas present from the wife. I'd found this site from a Google search when I was researching smokers, so I came back to get some tips on actually using the thing. I spent last Saturday smoking a small (5 lb.) pork butt for some good ol' pulled pork. Thanks to the info I got here, it turned out really well! I was worried about it beforehand but was quite pleased with the result, especially for a first attempt. My wife is from Memphis and she liked it, so I must have done something right. icon_lol.gif

 

No pictures, unfortunately. We were too hungry and it smelled too good to do that. Maybe next time..

 

Anyway, just wanted to thank everyone for the advice I've read on here. I'll be hanging around, I still have a lot to learn.
