I just got a Masterbuilt electric smoker and can not wait to try to make some jerky. I usually use a dehydrator but are wanting to use the smoker. I will be using my wife's secret family recipe for marinade. What temperature and how long should I smoke it for? I usually use liquid smoke in recipe, do I need to use that now? Thanks and I am glad found this site!

I start at 120* and bump it 10* every hour to not exceed 170* and let it go until it's done, usually 5-6 hours. I've never used liquid smoke and get plenty of smoky flavor from the wood.

I see this is your first post here, when you get a minute would you do us a favor and go to Roll Call and introduce yourself so we can get to know you and give you a proper welcome, also would you add your location to your profile, we like knowing where you are when we talk to you, Thanks!
